Custodian John Steven Merryman hasn't been on the job long in Derryberry Hall, but he's already won fans for his enthusiasm and hard work.

"Steve impresses me as an individual who sincerely enjoys his job," says Leo McGee, associate vice president for Academic Affairs. "In all of my years in university administration, I have yet to see anyone exhibit the kind of enthusiasm about 'doing a good job' as Steve. He goes the extra mile to ensure that those who work in Derryberry Hall are satisfied with his work. If you spend a few moments talking with him, he will ask what you think of his work."
