Athletics hosts TTU Sports Insiders Lunch

Sports fans hoping to stay informed about Tennessee Tech athletics, hear from Golden Eagle coaches, administrators and student-athletes, and enjoy a great meal during an hour of fun and fellowship are invited to attend a new monthly lunch at Ryan’s Grill, Buffet and Bakery.

Athletics will host the “TTU Sports Insiders Lunch” each month, with the first one scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 8, just a few hours before the first Golden Eagle home football game.

“We’re really excited about the possibilities of this monthly lunch, and we’re happy that Ryan’s will serve as our host,” says Athletics Director Mark Wilson. “It gives fans a chance to come to lunch, get a great meal and stay informed about Tennessee Tech athletics. It will also give fans a chance to talk with our staff and athletes, ask questions and meet other friends of the programs."

Open to the public, fans are encouraged to arrive by around 11:45 a.m. The program will begin just after noon, and the event will end by 12:45 p.m. Each monthly lunch will feature at least three different TTU coaches, plus student-athletes and other special speakers.

Ryan’s is offering a special, discounted price for the meal to persons attending the TTU Sports Insiders Lunch.

“The TTU Sports Insiders Lunch is going to be a fun event, and will benefit both of us,” says Walter Pepper, Ryan’s manager. “We’ll do our best to continue to provide quality food and excellent service, and we’re excited about being a partner with Tennessee Tech for this event.”

Scheduled to speak at the first Sports Insiders Lunch are football coach Mike Hennigan, volleyball coach John Blair and baseball coach Matt Bragga, along with members of each of their teams.

“Everyone is invited to attend,” says Wilson. “We also encourage everyone to bring along friends and introduce them to Tennessee Tech athletics.”
