| Adding
more than 2 million potential new listeners in and around Nashville,
and reaching out to thousands of alumni in the Metro area, the Tennessee
Tech Golden Eagle Sports Network has expanded to include WVOL-AM
1470 in Nashville.
“We are extremely happy to have WVOL join
the Golden Eagle Sports Network,” says Athletics Director
Mark Wilson. “This is a tremendous opportunity for both of
us. It brings our broadcasts to a large number of new listeners
in the Nashville market, and WVOL can carry every exciting minute
of Tennessee Tech football and basketball.”
John Heidelberg, owner and president of Heidelberg
Broadcasting, is also excited about the opportunity to add Golden
Eagle broadcasts to his station’s programming.
“This is a new and exciting opportunity
for our station to bring the broadcasts of Tennessee Tech University
athletics to our market,” he says. “Tennessee Tech has
a strong athletics program, which attracts students and recruits
from the Nashville Metro area, and there are thousands of Tennessee
Tech alumni living in our area who can now listen to those games.”
The Golden Eagle Sports Network, hosted by Clear
Channel Communications of Cookeville, also includes stations in
Sparta (105.5 FM) and McMinnville (960 AM), in addition to flagship
station WHUB (1400 AM) in Cookeville. With four stations, as well
as Internet streaming, the network broadcasts every football, men’s
basketball and women’s basketball game to a large listening
area throughout the mid-state area.
In addition, the broadcasts are carried on Teamline
both online and by telephone. Streaming of the Golden Eagle Sports
Network on WVOL is available at wvol1470.com,
while the Golden Eagle Radio Network is found at www.ttusports.com.
