Fall Health Check offers inexpensive blood tests Oct. 12

If you didn't take part in the Spring Health Fair, consider making an appointment for our Fall Health Check, set for 7-10 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 12, at the Fitness Center.

By now, you should have received a registration form from Campus Recreation for the annual event, which features four types of blood tests: a lipid profile, a comprehensive chemistry profile, a prostate-specific antigen, and — new this year — a thyroid panel.

Cost is $5 for the lipid profile, $15 for the comprehensive chemistry profile, $11 for the prostate specific antigen, and $40 for the thyroid panel. Both the lipid and comprehensive chemistry profiles require 12- to 14-hour fasting. Staff members from Cookeville Regional Medical Center are conducting the tests.

Limited appointment times are available, so call the Fitness Center's Health Promotion Office at 6511 as soon as possible. You'll also need to return the lab-work registration form. Mail to Box 5107 by Oct. 5.

The Fall Health Check is open to the entire campus community, including retirees, dependents and alumni.
