T-shirts that say "I bleed purple and gold," like the
one shown here, will be given to anyone donating at a special blood
and marrow drive conducted by Blood Assurance from 9:20 a.m. to
noon and 1 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, Nov. 16 and 17,
in the Tech Pride Room.
If you donate blood, the marrow test is a simple
matter of drawing one extra tube during the procedure.
The drive is being conducted in honor of Linda
Nunley, a former adjunct faculty member in our English Department
who died last month of leukemia. Nunley, who taught English, creative
writing and math at Warren County High School for 26 years, was
also an alumnus of TTU; she earned a B.S. in 1979 and an M.S. in
1985.
The parking lot across from Pennebaker Hall on
Dixie Avenue will be reserved for public parking the days of the
blood drive.
For more information, call James Dial at Blood
Assurance at 526-3462.
