the QEP: The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools
re-accreditation review team visit is just around the corner on
April 11-13. The main focus of the team's visit is to learn about
our new Quality
Enhancement Plan. As I hope you read in this issue of Tech
Times, it is important for everyone on campus to be familiar
with and support our QEP. The team plans to visit many areas of
campus and talk with a variety of staff and faculty. I especially
would like you to be aware of the following points concerning the
QEP:
* The QEP was developed with broad campus involvement.
* Its purpose is to improve students' critical
thinking and real-world problem solving.
* The QEP involves campus-wide participation through
projects developed by departments and individuals.
* The QEP is based on our campus vision for the
life-long success of our students, and it's an important component
of our strategic plan.
Please join me in making our QEP a true success.
Congratulations to our Golden Eaglettes: Thanks
to both of our basketball teams for another exciting season in Hooper
Eblen Center. I want to especially congratulate our Golden Eaglettes
for winning a share of the OVC regular season championship and for
taking us to the first round of the Women's National Invitation
Tournament.
Gov. Bredesen to visit: We'll
be honored to host a visit this May from Gov. Phil Bredesen. The
governor is scheduled to speak to our graduating class on May 6
and tour campus for a look at our plans for the Nursing and STEM
buildings. Watch the Tech Times for more details about
the commencement ceremonies.
