| The
Bryan Symphony Orchestra will open its season with the annual free
outdoor concert beginning at 7:30 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 10, at Dogwood
Park Pavilion downtown.
The concert will feature light classics, film
scores and several train-themed pieces, including the premier of
a new orchestration of the children's favorite "Thomas the
Tank Engine," scored by Joshua Hauser, associate professor
of Music.
"I love this venue, and I love to see the
people of Cookeville come together for a beautiful evening of music
under the stars," says Music Director Dan Allcott.
There will be activities for young people starting
at 6:30 pm. The Men of St. Michael's will be selling food and drinks
before the concert as well.
"We are fortunate to have friends in our
community who make this concert
possible," says Gail Luna, executive director of the symphony.
"It's really a sign of where we live."
The Bryan Symphony Orchestra is a collaborative
effort between Tennessee
Tech and the Bryan Symphony Orchestra Association.
