Viera, emeritus professor of English as a second language
and Spanish, was recently honored at the 41st annual International
Congress on Medieval Studies at Western Michigan University. Five
sessions were presented in Viera’s honor, along with a dinner
and a reception. Also honored were a professor of London University
and another from Michigan State University. The congress is held
annually, and it is the largest congress of scholars in medieval
and early modern culture worldwide, with about 3,500 attending this
year.
