College of Business featured as one of "Best 282 Business Schools" by The Princeton Review

Our College of Business is featured as one of The Princeton Review's "Best 282 Business Schools" in the just-published 2007 edition of the publication.

"Best 282 Business Schools" has two-page school profiles describing academics, student life and admissions, plus ratings for academics, selectivity and career placement services. In the profile on our business program, Princeton Review editors describe us as "a small school environment within a larger university" and tell readers that "life at Tech is thoroughly enjoyable."

"We are glad to see a national publication publicize what we know so well about our business program — that we put students and their needs first," says Dean Bob Niebuhr.

The publication quotes from students in the program who say "I can't count the times I've leaned on my fellow classmates for support and vice versa. The morale here is wonderful," and "Administrators are very approachable. They are always willing to go the extra mile."

In a "Survey Says…" sidebar in the profile, The Princeton Review lists topics that TTU students it surveyed for the book were in most agreement about. The list includes "helpful alumni."

According to Robert Franek, Princeton Review's vice president of publishing, "We chose schools for this book based on our high regard for their academic programs and offerings, institutional data we collect from the schools, and the candid opinions of students attending them who rate and report on their campus experiences at schools. We are pleased to recommend Tennessee Tech University to readers of our book and users of our web site as one of the best institutions they could attend to earn a business degree."

The Princeton Review does not rank the schools in the book on a single hierarchical list from 1 to 282, or name one business school best overall. They surveyed more than 18,000 students and used that information and statistical data to compile the list.

Already this year, we have been recognized as one of "America's 100 Best College Buys" by Institutional Research & Evaluation Inc., an independent research and consulting organization. The university also received honors as one of the Top Public Universities in the South as ranked by U.S.News & World Report and as a Best Southeastern College by The Princeton Review for 2007. TTU was also included in The Princeton Review's 2007 Best Value Colleges guidebook.
