In mid April, TTU employees will be able to access important web
information and the new Banner system in a whole new way —
one that will make logging in and getting access to information
easier.
MyTTU, a new web portal program powered by Luminis,
provides a "front door" entrance and personalized access
to web services for faculty and staff. The plan for the portal is
to provide a single log-in location for individuals to access web-based
information and to tailor news and information they regularly access
through the TTU web site.
In the MyTTU portal, channels of information are
available from a variety of web servers and databases. Users will
have the option of selecting those they prefer to use or see and
adding additional bookmarks, links or channels from off-campus sites.
The goal is to allow the user to build a personalized page to make
finding information effective and efficient.
Currently, only Banner Self-Service information,
including pay stubs and benefit information, is available through
the MyTTU portal. By summer, those employees who handle departmental
accounts will have access to the financial information through the
portal.
And later next year, students will have their
own MyTTU portals, providing access to registration, payment and
other university information.
An introduction to the portal system will also
be presented during Technology Day activities at 10 a.m. April 11
in Clement Hall 215. For a full schedule of Technology Day events,
visit webdesign.tntech.edu/td/schedule.php.
Demonstrations of the MyTTU portal will be presented
during Banner navigation training sessions on April 10, 11, 12,
16 and 20. To sign up for the training online, visit tntech.edu/its/training/asp/register.asp.
