Our College of Business and its accounting department are being
re-accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of
Business.
“We’ve received verbal feedback that
we will be recommended for re-accreditation at the annual meeting
this month,” says Bob Niebuhr, Dean of the College of Business.
Only 164 other schools in the world share the
distinction with us of having both their college and accounting
departments accredited by the prestigious AACSB organization.
“This places us among the top 15 percent
of business schools in the United States and in the upper 5 percent
of schools worldwide,” Niebuhr says.
Every five years, the college goes through a re-accreditation
process, which involves an in-depth self-study combined with a significant
amount of data collection and reports.
A re-accreditation visitation team made up of
faculty and administrators from peer schools came to our campus
for a site visit in February.
Students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends were
involved with the visit as the team provided an intensive academic
audit of the College of Business’ and accounting department’s
processes and outcomes.
