Have fun fishing and help the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency collect information during the “Tennessee Tech Trout Derby” hosted by our Tennessee Cooperative Fishery Research Unit.
The derby will be held on Dale Hollow Reservoir from Horse Creek Marina on June 22-23. Registration will begin at 7 p.m. on June 22, and the boats will be released promptly at 8 p.m.
The official weigh-in and awards ceremony will be held Saturday at 7 a.m., but anglers will be allowed to weigh-in throughout the night. One hundred percent of the entry fees will be paid back in the form of cash prizes, and anglers must be present to claim the prizes.
The not-for-profit tournament was designed to collect biological information on trout stocked into the reservoir by the TWRA and to provide a fun night of fishing for local anglers. The trout derby is part of a larger effort funded by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, our Center for the Management, Utilization, and Protection of Water Resources, and the U.S. Geological Survey to assess the state’s reservoir trout stocking program.
