If you are stuck in a routine at lunch, break out and experience a different menu and interesting conversation at "Mix It Up Lunch Day" at 11 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 29, in the Roaden University Center Tech Pride Room.
The Office of Minority Affairs and Shelley Brown’s Sociology 1010 class will host a culturally diverse luncheon offering a multi-ethnic menu. Participants will also have the opportunity to play Barnga, a simple game that encourages people from different backgrounds to break down social boundaries and learn to live together.
"My class has worked very hard all semester to give students, faculty and staff a chance to come together and learn more about each other," said Brown, Sociology instructor. "Lunch is free, every participant will receive a T-shirt, and everyone will have a chance to win door prizes, too."
The event, sponsored by the Sociology and Political Science Department and the Office of Minority Affairs, is a part of TTU's Quality Enhancement Plan for improving student learning for lifelong success.
There is no charge, but reservations are required because of limited seating. To make a reservation, contact Brown at ext. 6122 or CSBrown@tntech.edu. |
