An experience filled with kindness and professionalism from Academic Development's Janet Whiteaker drew one student to the university and made a lasting impression.

"A student from another school who had taken the academic placement test here was having trouble registering at the other institution and was frustrated with her experiences there," says Monica Greppin, TTU's associate vice president of communications and marketing, who nominated Whiteaker.

"The personal time and attention Janet provided to the student left a strong impression. The student is now planning on transferring to TTU as soon as she completes her associate’s degree."

Whiteaker joined the university in 1984.
