The annual Steam Plant Outage is scheduled for May 3 through May 17. The steam plant will be shut down after all graduation activities are complete on Saturday evening, May 3.
There will be NO STEAM OR HOT WATER supplied to the campus during this period.
The following are exceptions for hot water:
1. The Recreation & Fitness Center has an alternate source which will provide hot water for its showers.
2. The Roaden University Center has a small auxiliary hot water boiler to supply hot water to the cafeteria.
3. Tech Village and a few academic buildings have electric water heaters which will continue to operate during this outage.
4. East and West Stadium locker rooms have a gas boiler for hot water.
This outage is necessary to perform annual maintenance for equipment in both the steam plant and on the campus steam distribution system. To minimize the impact on other campus events the outage is scheduled each year for the two weeks after spring graduation.
