John Robert Holloway, a systems programmer with Information Technology Services, goes out of his way to help get problems solved with the computer labs in the library, according to Sharon Buckner, executive aide, and Charlene McClain, head of circulation at the Volpe Library.
When McClain came in on a Sunday evening before finals, she heard from students that all the computers in the Media Center were down. She immediately left messages for Holloway, who is the ITS contact for the PAC labs on campus. Once he received the messages he came to the library on Sunday evening.
"The computers were back online by 9 a.m. on Monday morning due to Robert's help," according to Buckner and McClain.
"It's great to have someone like Robert to count on when problems arise," Buckner and McClain write in their nomination form. "We appreciate him and so do the students who benefit from his expertise."
Holloway joined the university in 2006.
