The American Society for Engineering Education, Southeastern Section, recognized three chemical engineering faculty members. Pedro Arce, professor and chair, and Mario Oyanader, adjunct professor, were awarded the 2008 Thomas C. Evans Instructional Paper Award, which is given to the author or authors of the most outstanding paper pertaining to engineering education. Don Visco, professor, was awarded the 2008 Outstanding Teaching Award, which is intended to recognize faculty members who have demonstrated exceptional contributions to engineering or engineering technology education through outstanding classroom performance.
