"If we are to achieve a richer culture, rich in contrasting values, we must recognize the whole gamut of human potentialities, and so weave a less arbitrary social fabric, one in which each diverse human gift will find a fitting place." –- Margaret Mead
Great educational institutions not only have a great diversity of thought, people, and experiences; they also know how to engage intelligence and productivity based on these resources. This conference will explore successful strategies for administrators, teachers, and students committed to fostering what Margaret mead called a “richer culture” within our schools.
This conference seeks to move beyond diluted interpretations of diversity by encouraging proposals that confront and challenge celebratory, superficial approaches to multiculturalism. Theoretical and practical proposals that address the depth and complexity of diversity are strongly encouraged.
