Trumpet Festivals
The TTU trumpet studio is nationally recognized for
its active role in training undergraduate trumpet majors, the results
of which are numerous national and regional accomplishments including
multiple awards from the National Trumpet Competition and the International
Trumpet Guild. The course of study annually incorporates special
events designed to help develop the student as both a solo performer
and ensemble musician. Activities include solo appearances by students
and faculty, trumpet festivals, trumpet ensemble performances,
off-campus appearances, and visits by outstanding trumpet artists.
The Fall Trumpet Festival is a concert series featuring solo literature
and chamber music ranging from baroque sonatas to twentieth century
concerti. The annual Trumpet Symposium (part of Tech's All-Star
Instrumental Symposium) is a day of clinics and concerts for high
school trumpeters. Our Pops Night For Trumpet, features "lighter" solo
literature by such trumpet and cornet legends as J.B. Arban, Herbert
L. Clarke, Harry James, and Rafael Mendez.
