Creating a new web page

When you create a new page you are creating a single HTML file that will be viewed by web browsers.  This page is only one of many in a web site.

  1. Select File --> New --> Page
  2. The New box will open with a number of different templates that you can choose as shown below
  3. Select the Normal Page icon for a blank page

  1. Click OK
  2. To change the name of the file Select File --> Save
  3. The Save As box opens as shown below

  1. Rename the file (ex: extra_info)
  2. Click on the Change... button to change the title of your page (this is the text viewed in the web browsers title bar.
  3. The Set Page Title box opens as shown below

  1. Give the page a title (ex: Extra Information)
  2. Click OK

The Save As box below is what it will look like after the changes have been made.  [Save As box (after changes)]

  1. Click Save to save the file to your web directory

Note: Another way to change the title of your web page is to Select File --> Properties. Next to Title: type your title in the box, then Click OK.
