[FP98 icon]

When you create a new page you are creating a single HTML file that will be viewed by web browsers.  This page is only one of many in a web site.

You can create a new page in both FrontPage Explorer and FrontPage Editor:

From FrontPage Explorer:

  1. Click New Page button in the upper left corner of the window. [New Page button]
A new file will be added to your files list.
  2. Double-click on the page and it will open in FrontPage Editor
  3. Change the title by selecting File --> Page Properties
  4. Next to Title: rename the file (this is the title which will see in the browser title bar, not the name of the file.)

From FrontPage Editor:

  1. Select File --> New --> Page
  2. The New box will open with a number of different templates that you can choose as shown below
  3. Select Normal Page for a blank page

[New box]

  1. Click OK
The new file will open automatically
  2. To change the name of the file Select File --> Save
  3. The Save As box opens as shown below

[Save As box]

  1. Next to URL: rename the file (ex: extra_info - FrontPage will add the .htm extension)
  2. Next to Title: type in the title you would like viewed in the web browser title bar (ex: Extra Information)
  3. Click OK

Note: Another way to change the title of your web page is to Select File --> Properties. Next to Title: type your title in the box, then Click OK.
