COUNSELING CENTERThe Tennessee Tech Counseling Center provides a wide range of services designed to help students adjust to and succeed in the university environment. The college experience is a time of learning. Counseling and other services offered by the Counseling Center can be seen as forms of learning where students develop more effective means of resolving concerns and acquiring strategies for achieving personal and professional goals. Students experience varying degrees of difficulty related to the challenges associated with university life. Adjustment to college, stress management, interpersonal relationships, family issues, depression, anxiety, and self-esteem are among the concerns that students discuss in counseling. Strict confidentiality is maintained in the counseling process. In order to further assist students with their social, emotional, educational, and career concerns, the Counseling Center also provides outreach and consultation services. The outreach program includes workshops that focus on specific issues such as relationships, stress management, interacting with professors, test anxiety, study skills, and career development. |
