REMOVING HIGH SCHOOL UNIT DEFICIENCIES

The Tennessee State Board of Regents requires the completion of specific high school courses. Students admitted to Tennessee Technological University with high school deficiencies will be required to remove these deficiencies by taking courses listed below. High School deficiencies must be completed by the time the student has earned 60 credit hours. A grade of "C" or better is required in the courses; if lower than a "C," the student must repeat the class. Students who graduated from an accredited high school subsequent to 1989 must meet the 14 required units of academic credit. Students who received a GED certificate in 1989-1992 and thereafter are considered to have met all high school unit requirements except those in foreign language. Students who earned a GED certificate in 1993 and thereafter are considered to have met all high school unit requirements except those in foreign language and visual or performing arts. Students who graduated prior to 1989 will be evaluated by GED scores only. The COMPASS/ASSET test will also be required.
