APPLICATION PROCEDURE FOR FRESHMEN:
- Application
forms must be completed and submitted to the Office of Admissions
at an early date. Applications
must be accompanied by a
non-refundable fee of $15. Students may also apply online at www.tntech.edu/applyonline.
- To be considered
during the senior year of high school, a student should request the high
school counseling office to forward a transcript of the high
school record complete through grade eleven to Tennessee Tech. A final
transcript should be forwarded upon graduation.
If
a student has completed any college credit (through dual-enrollment, summer
courses, etc.) at any institution of higher education, an official college
transcript should be sent to Tennessee Tech from that institution. Please note:
Transcripts that are hand-delivered or faxed are not considered official for
admission purposes.
It is a Class
A misdemeanor to misrepresent academic credentials. A person commits
the offense of misrepresentation of academic credentials who, knowing that
the statement is false and with the intent to secure employment at or admission
to an institution of higher education in Tennessee, represents, orally or in
writing that such person:
(1) Has successfully completed the required course work for and has been awarded
one (1) or more degrees or diplomas from an accredited institution of higher
education;
(2) Has successfully completed the required course work for and has been awarded
one (1) or more degrees for diplomas from a particular institution of higher
education; or
(3) Has successfully completed the required course work for and has been awarded
one (1) or more degrees or diplomas in a particular field or specialty from an
accredited institution of higher education.
- Each applicant
should make arrangements with the school counselor to take the American
College Test (ACT) or the Scholastic
Aptitude Test of the College Entrance Examination Board (SAT). At
the time the test is taken,
one should request that the scores be sent to Tennessee Technological
University.
- Reservations
for on-campus housing should be obtained by submitting
an application and prepayment to the Office of Residential Life.

- Upon acceptance,
students will be mailed a letter of Admission. Information concerning orientation
and registration
will be provided to
students admitted prior to registration.
