DEFINITION OF A CREDIT HOUR

Tennessee Technological University is organized on the semester basis. When the term hour or credit is used, it refers to a semester hour credit. A semester hour is one hour of class, recitation, or two or more hours of laboratory work, per week through one semester of approximately 15 weeks. Laboratory hours per credit are determined by department or college.
