University 1020 First-Year Connections is a course specially designed to help you build the academic, social, and professional connections you will need for a successful college career. In this one-credit hour course, you will be introduced to an assortment of University services, academic skills, and friendships that will make your adjustment to the vibrant life of our campus much easier.

University Connections Peer Mentor Application

We are looking for energetic and enthusiastic upperclassmen for University Connection Peer Mentors during the Fall 2014-Spring 2015 academic year. If you would like to provide guidance and support for the incoming freshman class, we encourage you to apply! *Applicants CANNOT be graduating in December of 2014.

Being a peer mentor is a great way to get involved with the University, build your resume, and it provides you with additional leadership experience. More information about the Peer Mentor program is available within the application's details.

University Common Book

If you are teaching a University Connections course Fall 2014, a free copy of the University's Common Book will be available in late August. Also, visit the University's Common Book website at tntech.edu/commonbook for the lecture guide and events with the author. Consider stopping by to pick up your free copy to learn if this book could be a good fit for classes that fall outside the freshman seminar courses.
