STORY (PDF)
As the first woman assistant
managing editor of The New York Times, Carolyn Lee, physics
'67, tried to give the "old gray lady" of journalism a jolt
of color not with the printing presses, but in the newsroom.
Two good-hearted men one white,
one black met in the 1930s and formed a relationship on our
campus that helped launch an international singing career.
Higher education took it on the chin during
the latest slashing of state appropriations. Who got cut and by how
much.
