Windows on the World Festival - April 14

Volunteers Needed: Thursday 1:30 - 7, Friday 2 - 10, and Saturday 9 - 7 (12th - 14th)

Volunteer Tasks will include (but not be limited to): Decorations, Set up and tear down, food court helpers, childrens craft area, earth day helpers, runner/information desk, helping with performers

  • I need student coordinators to help plan and carry out 4 Adult Computer Trainings in March and April.
  • The coordinators (4) should be efficient in Internet Explorer, Parts of a Computer, Search Engines, Resumes, Excel, and somewhat knowledgable in Power Point.  Do not inquire if you are not responsible, dependable, and are not a people person. 
  • We will choose dates and times together, contact county leaders on the project together and set the plans in motion together.  Coordinators will help plan every step of the way. 
  • We will also need about 3-5 volunteers to travel with us as assistants for the project.  We like to schedule some one-on-one time for each participant.

Location:   Clarion Hotel, 970 South Jefferson, Cookeville, TN
 
Friday/ Saturday: Set Up (this will be putting up decorations, getting tables/chairs set up) 5 people would be good here.
During the Event: 10-12 people to help clear tables as the event is ongoing. They will not need to wash dishes, just help keep tables clean
Once the event ends (probably 11pm-12am or 1am depending on how many are there to help) Clean Up. This will be taking down decorations, any table clearing that is still left, and helping to store tables and chairs. Five -10 people would be good here. The more there are, the quicker we're done

Assist (on Thursday evenings from 3:30 - 5:30) museum staff member Beth Thompson with Creative Kids Club, an afterschool program for children ages 6 to 11 that takes place inside the museum, located at 36 W 2nd Street (corner of Peachtree Avenue).

Duties include interacting with and supervising children, making crafts, and cleaning up.

Volunteers must enjoy working with kids and be dependable. Early education or human ecology majors are especially encouraged to apply, although no previous experience with children is necessary

 

Need volunteers for Editing and proof-reading for new exhibit content at the Cookeville Children’s Museum.

Hours are flexible and work can be completed off-site and at times suitable to volunteer.

Required: English or journalism major, or demonstrated experience. Editing test must be completed by each interested applicant before assignment will be handed out.

Number of volunteers needed: 2 or 3

    • They are looking for a consistent volunteer to help with fundraising, community involvement, etc. You must be willing to sign on for this semester and next to serve your 25 hours each semester. The Dismas House is a prisoner re-entry program. It will be an excellent project for a criminal justice, social work, sociology, psychology, child and family studies major, maybe even education – depending on the duties you will be assigned to.

Need volunteers to: mow, make signs, advertise, work cameras during festival, pick up trash, work ticket booths, help people navigate the festival, work merchandise booth and work in children's area.  All volunteers are welcome to stay and camp the event as well.

* You can DROP OFF at the Service Center and backpacks will be gotten to the student leader of this project

* This is a Salvation Army Initiative headed up by one of our TTU student families - distributed monthly

* Items to fill backpacks: small blankets, gloves, socks, pens, notebooks, hygiene products (ex: deo, combs, etc), hats, and other non-perishable items
