Make your Fillable PDF Saveable

* For Fillable online PDF Forms only

The Portable Document Format (PDF) file is a widely used format for fillable documents/forms. Adobe Acrobat is the software you need to create interactive PDF forms. Use Acrobat to create customized forms that users can fill in and save on their own computers. AS THE AUTHOR OF THE FORM, YOU MUST ENABLE EXTENDED RIGHTS IN ORDER TO LET ACROBAT READER USERS SAVE THEIR FORM DATA. These instructions work for anyone using Adobe Reader 8 and above.
Information on purchasing a copy of Acrobat can be found at "Technology Purchases".

To Enable Reader rights, perform the following instructions after creating or editing your Fillable PDF in Adobe Acrobat.

Instructions for PC:

  1. With your file open in Adobe Acrobat, click the "Advanced" menu.

  2. Select "Extend Features in Adobe Reader" if you're using Acrobat Pro or Pro Extended. Select "Extend Forms Fill-In & Save In Adobe Reader" in Acrobat Standard. This will ensure Reader users can save their filled-in data on their computers. In Acrobat Pro and Pro Extended, the rights also allow users to add comments, sign the PDF digitally and use the Typewriter Tool.

  3. The "Enable Usage Rights in Adobe Reader" will appear, explaining what enabling the usage rights will do. Click the "Save Now" button.

  4. A Save window will appear, prompting you to choose a location so save your PDF.

Instructions for Mac:
