  • Content Modules - allows you to put up your notes and content and link to quizzes. The student access is tracked.
  • Assignments - allows you to setup assignments with selective release times and conditions.
  • Question Database - this is the area where questions are stored.
  • Quiz/Survey Tool - allows you to setup quizzes and surveys or upload from Respondus.

What is Respondus?
"Respondus is a powerful tool for creating and managing exams that can be printed to paper or published directly to Blackboard, eCollege, WebCT and other eLearning systems. Exams are created offline in a familiar Windows environment and the software provides many time-saving tools, such as the ability to import existing exams from word processor files." -www.respondus.com

• If you are currently using Respondus, select Check for Update from the Help menu.  
• New users may download the latest version of Respondus - version 3.5.2
  * Make sure you go to the Help menu and select Check for Update any time you do a new install.

Download StudyMate:

What is StudyMate?
"StudyMate is an authoring tool that lets you create 9 Flash-based activities and games using three simple templates. The Flash activities are usable with any web server or can be published directly to Blackboard, WebCT CE, or WebCT Vista courses. StudyMate will import items from MS Word files or the Respondus Test Bank Network, making it easy to create interesting, interactive activities from existing content." -www.respondus.com

• System requirements are minimal (Windows 2000, XP with 32 MB RAM and 10 MB hard disk space - StudyMate activities require Flash Player 7.0 or higher.).  For details see: http://www.respondus.com/products/requirements.shtml
   
• Download the software (v.2) to your desktop (only accessible on the TTU campus).  Double click on the file to unzip it and start the installer.  Accept the defaults during installation
• StudyMate (v. 2) User Guide (Word format)  (PDF)  can also be downloaded to your desktop (only accessible on the TTU campus).

Download Respondus Lockdown Browser:

What is Respondus Lockdown Browser?
"Respondus LockDown Browser is a custom browser that locks down the testing environment within WebCT or Blackboard. Students are locked into the assessment and are unable to print, copy, go to another URL, or access other applications.  Respondus LockDown Browser is a client application that is installed to a local computer. It provides a custom interface for the Internet Explorer (Windows) or Safari (Macintosh) software that is already installed on the computer. It does not modify an existing copy of Internet Explorer or Safari, but rather, installs a separate program that will display a custom browser when it is started. " -http://www.respondus.com/

Windows  (WebCT and iLearn)

• System requirements are minimal

  • Windows 98, 2000, XP with 1 MB hard disk space

    • Internet Explorer configured for WebCT

• Download for Windows 
• Double click on the file and follow the installation instructions.

Macintosh (WebCT and iLearn)

• System requirements are minimal

  • Macintosh OSX 10.3.9 or higher with 2 MB hard disk space and 512 MB RAM

    • Safari browser

• Download for Macintosh
• You will need to answer Yes to running the Java application.
• Following the installation, start Respondus LockDown Browser by clicking "Applications" and selecting "LockDown Browser".

Training and Support:

• The Institute for Technological Scholarship offers training on WebCT, Dreamweaver, and other software such as Visio, Respondus, and iMovie.
• Information Technology Services offers training in Microsoft software and others such as Adobe Acrobat.

Printed Documentation:
To use the PDF version, you will need FREE Adobe Acrobat viewing software for Macintosh, Windows, or Linux.
