Hossain gains international attention for study on large dams, precipitation

Interview requests came flooding in after the release of “Have Large Dams Altered Extreme Precipitation Patterns?” in the Dec. 1 issue of the American Geophysical Union journal “Eos.” Media outlets seeking Hossain’s comments and expertise include New Scientist, National Geographic News, MSNBC, Fox News and Wired.com.
"The idea that large dams built since the '30s and '40s to protect us from floods can come back to haunt us is a very provocative one," Hossain said.
