Theme and Purpose:

Popular culture is gradually realizing the need to take action on the global climate change with the Oscar win earned by the documentary, "An Inconvenient Truth". Ten CEOs of major corporations recently urged President George W. Bush to enact legislation to arrest climate change. But anything this abstract could not be enough to spur individuals into action.

"Men do not fight for flag or country, for the Marine Corps or glory or any other abstraction. They fight for one another." - William Manchester, Historian & Author.

This session will highlight the impact of global climate change on individuals and explore the initiatives being pursued by people in the Upper Cumberland and members of the Tennessee Tech community.
