Nominate a person for the Window on the World Mandala award. Each year the festival is dedicated to someone in the Upper Cumberland whose recognition of the world as one – a circle of humanity – has led to international activisim and friendship. The award will be presented Saturday, April 18th. Past recipients include Dr. Sam and Diane Glasgow, Dr. JoAnne Clark, Dr. Chuck Womack, Marge Rios, Diane Paul, Hector Black, Robert and Julia Smoak, and Don Estes. Like these people, the nominee should have demonstrated exceptional commitment to befriending people from around the world. The ideal nominee has learned much of other cultures, cares for humanity everywhere, and actively pursues this international interest right here, benefiting our whole community. If you would like to nominate someone for the WOW Mandala Award, please write a one-page letter describing how the person’s qualities and activities fit these criteria. The letter should either be addressed to Katie Kumar, WOW Coordinator, TTU Box 5023, Cookeville TN 38505, or send an e-mail to kjkumar@tnech.edu. The deadline for submitting nominations is March 18th. On the left, 2008 Mandala recipients Dr. Sam and Diane Glasgow accept award created by Nashville artist, Masood Taj.
