Catherine Archer

As a recent graduate of TTU's Merchandising & Design program, I have accomplished many of the things I had always wanted to do in life. During my time in this program, I learned numerous skills that I have been able to apply to my everyday life and future career.

Since graduation, I have started my own handmade jewelry business. Owning a small business requires that I handle all processes by myself including design, production, promotion, advertising, and even shipping and handling.

Many of Tech's courses such as Merchandising 1 & 2, Promotion and Advertising, Multi-channel retailing, and business classes (which are part of our coursework), prepared me to run a small business. I learned how to be professional and how to handle certain situations in the business world. I also had the opportunity to go to AmericasMart Atlanta as an assistant buyer and model for Jovani formal dresses for a week.

Without all of the amazing professors, staff, and classes I took at TTU, I wouldn't be the business professional I have become today. I am so thankful to have TTU as my alma mater and I would highly recommend this program to anyone who is interested.
