The Department offers two degrees; a modern, innovative program that leads to a Bachelor's of Science in Business Administration Accounting Degree and a Master of Accountancy. Our program integrates technology and traditional accounting knowledge. Accounting graduates pursue careers in such areas as auditing, taxation, investments, public accounting, and accounting in business and government. Our accounting program is accredited by the Association for the Advancement of Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the highest accreditation achievable by an accounting program.
BSBA, Accounting Major
The B.S.B.A. Accounting Major program builds on a foundation of liberal arts education
courses and core business studies. We seek to prepare students from culturally diverse
backgrounds for accounting and accounting related careers.
The program consists of 18 hours of required upper division accounting courses including Financial Accounting, Cost Accounting, Taxation and Auditing. In addition, each student is required to take at least one 4000-level accounting elective. We offer a wide range of electives including Advanced Cost Accounting, Governmental Accounting, Financial Statement Analysis, International Experience in Accounting, and Internship opportunities.
To meet the needs of our diverse student population, the Department offers up to 21 credit hours of upper division accounting online annually. These courses provide students access to our outstanding accounting curriculum without needing to come to class for daily class meetings. The courses are designed and taught by our experienced PhD faculty members.
Master of Accountancy
TTU offers a 30 Master of Accountancy. While most of the coursework is delivered
online, the program is unique in two respect. First, preparation for the CPA Exam
is included as part of the Curriculum. Second, each MAcc student will participate
in two weekend residencies on TTU’s campus as part of the program. Students can select
either a 1-year pathway or a 2-year pathway. For more information go to the Master of Accountancy page.
