What is Child Life?
Child life specialists work with children and families in stressful situations such as a hospital environment, hospice care, and other settings to help relieve some of the pressures they face. They provide age-appropriate support through education, creative play, and other means.
The Child Life program, a gateway to the Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) credential, is coordinated with the Association of Child Life Professionals programmatic and educational standards for the child life practitioner.
Application to the Child Life program at Tennessee Tech University is required and should be made in the second semester of sophomore year after completing HEC 2250 and while enrolled in HEC 2550.
