The Department of Foreign Languages is located on the 2nd floor of Oakley Hall, at the southeast corner of the beautiful main quadrangle. The departmental office is in Room 227. All FL faculty offices, classrooms and a student lounge/study area called the Euro Cafe are conveniently located within this area.
Our three student organizations are very active and hold meetings in Oakley Hall. Each fall, the German Club, Der Deutsche Klub, hosts the popular Oktoberfest with delicious, home-cooked German dishes; other events are also offered throughout each semester. Activities sponsored by the Spanish Club, Amigos, include regular conversation hours and film nights, as well as service projects and parties. The French Club, Avant Garde, hosts a variety of French-related events and outings each semester, in addition to conversation hours and movie nights.
The Euro Café provides a relaxed atmosphere for students to gather between classes. It also gives students additional opportunities to practice the languages they're studying through informal conversations with each other. We invite you to stop by and see our newly renovated space. We hope to see you soon!
