German Club (Der Deutsche Klub "Freundschaft")

The German Club sponsors several events every year: Our main fundraiser is the annual Oktoberfest that draws 100 persons; We organize a Faschingsparty, Wandertag, a Curry Wurst Sauce Competition, and egg painting in the Spring; and a German Cafe at the Window on the World International Festival, also in the Spring. In addition there are many opportunities to watch German movies during the semester; we meet for "Stammtisch" - where all levels can practice their German and meet local German-speaking people in the community - once a week. The Club also organizes a visit to the opera in Nashville each semester and pays 50% of the cost for club members.
