Zandria F. Robinson, PhD is a writer and sociologist whose work focuses on race, popular culture, and the U.S. South. She is the author of This Ain’t Chicago: Race, Class, and Regional Identity in the Post-Soul South, co-editor with Sandra L. Barnes and Earl Wright II of Repositioning Race: Prophetic Research in a Postracial Obama Age, and co-author with Marcus Anthony Hunter of Chocolate Cities: The Black Map of American Life. Her writing appears in the Rolling Stone, Hyperallergic, The Oxford American, Scalawag, and The Believer.
