First-Year Connections is a program with courses specially designed to help new students build the academic, social, and professional connections needed for a successful college career at Tennessee Tech. In this one-credit hour course, students will be introduced to an assortment of University services, academic skills, friendships, and experiences that will make his/her adjustment to the vibrant life of our campus much easier.
Peer Mentor Application
We are looking for energetic and enthusiastic upperclassmen to serve as First-Year Connections Peer Mentors. Peer Mentors work with First-Year Connections instructors to support the transition of new freshman students into Tennessee Tech's academic community. Mentors will work both inside and outside of the classroom to foster a personal relationship with new students and help with building an enriched, educational experience at Tennessee Tech during the first-year experience. The role of a peer mentor exists to co-navigate transitional challenges of the freshman year. For more information about this role visit: Peer Mentor Program.
