Confidentiality Policy

Statement on Confidentiality:

The TTU Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning is dedicated to providing faculty a place to discuss their teaching and their students in a safe, confidential manner, for formative purposes, without risk of evaluation or censure.

The TTU Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning does not disclose information related to its work with faculty members unless compelled to so by state or federal law.

Subject to this limitation:

  • The TTU  Center for Innovative Teaching and Learningwill review feedback (videotapes, student evaluations, etc.) about a course only upon request of the faculty member.
  • The TTU Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning does not share any feedback or observation results available to anyone but the faculty member who requests such feedback.
  • The TTU Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning recognizes that faculty may benefit further by sharing the Center feedback with their colleagues and they may do so at their own discretion.
  • Feedback gathered or given by the TTU Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning is meant to be formative only and thus is not recommended for used in the promotion, tenure, or re-appointment process.
  • The TTU Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning will make available the name of a faculty participant only upon his or her written request. At the request of a participant, the TTU Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning  will provide written verification of participation listing the type(s) of activity and date(s).
  • Occasionally, the TTU Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning  may ask for a faculty member’s written permission to show another individual or group an excerpt or other material to illustrate a particular teaching issue.
  • The TTU Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning reports its data in aggregate form only
