Fall 2021 - Leadership Opportunities

>>> Disney Leadership Exchange

Participants will learn Disney's 3 Key Concepts for a successful business, along with the primary tools utilized by great leaders to maintain balance. In addition, students will be able to identify the four Disney Leadership Strategies learned throughout the program and be able to relate this to their organizations, personal life, and business. Students will strengthen leadership skills while learning how a multi-million-dollar franchise keeps raising the bar for customer service.

Students will travel to Disney from January 3-6, 2022. While in Disney, USCA and TN Tech students will attend different leadership sessions in which they will be involved in activities and discussions that teach them the secrets to Disney’s success and how they can apply this to their own lives and careers. They will also learn Disney’s leadership strategies and how they can apply those strategies to organizations in which they are involved.
 
Students selected for the Disney Leadership Experience will:

    • Gain leadership experience working with peers and students from another institution

    • Learn about leadership resources available to students at TN Tech

    • Actively participate in the Tennessee Tech campus community

    • Develop and foster relationships with student leaders from other organizations on campus

    • Create the possibility for future campus leadership opportunities

    • Receive travel subsidy for the Disney Leadership Experience

Requirements:

    • Must be in good academic standing

    • Must be able to attend training and meetings as scheduled (scheduled around participants)

    • Must be willing to cover up to 30% of the DLE travel costs (approx. $250-$300)

    • Must be able to attend a 15-minute interview on September 23 or 24

    • All participants will read a Disney-focused leadership book (for group discussion)

Preferred Characteristics and Skills:

    • Willingness to collaborate with a team

    • Desire to learn

    • Excellent communication skills

    • Strong work ethic
