College of Engineering

Ph.D. Funded Program

A select group of 12 doctoral students from the College of Engineering are receiving special assistantships that allow them to better focus on research. These assistantships were established due to Tech’s reclassification as a Doctoral University under the Carnegie Classification®. The new classification gave Tech access to additional funds from the State of Tennessee, for students conducting a diverse scope of research, ranging from electrokinetic drug delivery to high-performance financial computing, and cybersecurity. Some of the students already have patent’s pending for their innovative work.
