Undergraduate STEM Research Seminar: Cameron Shepherd, TTU Physics

    Oct. 8 @ 4 p.m., Volpe Library 248

The Undergraduate STEM Research Seminar this week will be given by physics major Cameron Shepherd. Cameron is using a quantum system formed from a typical defect in diamond to measure magnetic fields. In his talk, Assessment of a Nitrogen-Vacancy Magnetometer for Use in Precision Ultracold Neutron Experiments, Cameron will describe his work over the summer to address this quantum system with microwaves, allowing him to observe changes due to the presence of an external magnetic field. The seminar will be this Friday, October 8th at 4pm in Volpe Library 248. It will be geared for undergraduates from any STEM major, but graduate students and faculty are also encouraged to attend! Visit the seminar webpage for more information and the current schedule of upcoming talks.
