Students in a race car

About the Program

Tennessee Tech College of Engineering's new vehicle engineering concentration combines mechanical, electrical and computer engineering to prepare students to work in cutting-edge automotive technologies and develop innovative automotive products. Dedicated facilities provide student lab space for Baja SAE, Formula SAE motorsports teams and vehicles, machine shops and senior capstone design project teams.

Future Careers

Tennessee Tech's vehicle engineering concentration prepares engineers that are competent to meet the demand for research, design, development and manufacturing of advanced and autonomous vehicles. These engineers are able to develop new automotive products that address societal needs. Vehicle engineers are building next-generation mobility systems that incorporate conventional human-driven vehicles, electric vehicles and intelligent autonomous vehicles with vehicle-to-vehicle and infrastructure connectivity. Their innovations create systems that improve traffic efficiency, energy efficiency, safety and air quality.
