Induction to the Profession Ceremony

Order of the Engineer:

As an engineering graduate of Tennessee Tech, you are invited to accept the "Obligation of an Engineer" in a ceremony to be held at 3:00 p.m. on December 15th, in Clement Hall, Room 212.  This is not an additional organization to which one belongs but is a personal obligation formally accepted by reading and signing the "Obligation" (see enclosure).  The stainless steel ring worn on the small finger of the working hand (left or right) is the visible symbol of the professional qualifications and obligations of the wearer.  There will be no chapter meetings, and no dues are collected.  The initial fee of $15.00 covers the cost of the ring, the certificate, and the national fee.  Please bring the exact amount or pay by check.  There will be no refunds, although initiates who miss a ceremony for unavoidable reasons may participate in the next scheduled ceremony.

If you wish to accept this invitation, please come by Clement Hall, Room 201, no later than December 13th, 2017, to select your ring size, specify how you wish your name to appear on the certificate, and pay the fee.  We look forward to your accepting this obligation as a supporter of this movement which has spread throughout the United States.  Most participants will be dressed the same as for the graduation ceremony (but without cap and gown).
