University Academic Service Scholarship (UAS)

Q - What is the University Academic Service Scholarship (UAS)?

Q - Is there a work/service requirement?

Yes. This scholarship entails work service on campus for approximately 75 hours per semester (approximately 5 hours per week).

Q - When & where may I pick up my work assignment?

Federal Work Study and UAS Contract day for the 1718 year will be held Friday, August 25th in Memorial Gym, located on the Quad, from 8 :30-4 pm. Please note contracts are handed out according to a schedule based on the first letter of your last name.  We will be using the schedule below:

Federal Work Study Assignments - If you have a Federal Work Study assignment you will need to bring your current I-9 card. If you have a federal work study assignment and do not have a current I-9 card, please bring the proper documentation to the TTU Human Resources Office, located in Derryberry Hall, Room 156.  To find out what documentation you need, please look at page 3 of the I-9 form, located at this link:  I-9

Students with a University Academic Scholarship ONLY will not be required to show an I-9 card.

Please make all reasonable efforts to pick up your contract  Friday, August 25th.  

**UPDATE**  We'll be in the Jere Whitson Auditorium on Tuesday, Aug 29, 2017 - 8:30 am - 4:00 pm - Please, if you haven't already, pick up your work contract.

Beginning Wednesday, August 30th contracts will be distributed in the Office of Financial Aid, located in Jere Whitson Room 302 from 8:30-4 pm. The office space is limited and the lines will be longer to pick up your contracts. You are able to pick up your contracts during that first week of class. All contracts must be picked up by Friday, September 1st  at 4:00 pm. 

Q - Can I pick my assignment?

No. You can however, contact the Scholarship Coordinator's at and let them know where you would like your assignment to be, but there is no guarantee that they will be able to fulfill your request. ** PLEASE include your T # on all correspondence with our office! **

Q - Do I need an I-9 card?

No, not for the UAS.

Q - What 3 things do I need to do to keep my UAS scholarship?

1. Keep your overall cumulative grade point average a 3.0 or above every semester.
2. Maintain full time enrollment (12 hours) every semester.
3. Perform 75 hours of service to the university (60 hours if in Honors HPEO) every semester.

Q - What does my cumulative grade point average have to be to keep my scholarship?

Your cumulative grade point average must be 3.0 or above.

Q - What if my cumulative grade point averages falls below the required average?

You will have one semester of probation after your CGPA falls below 3.0. If you do not raise it to at least a 3.0 you will lose your scholarship. If at any time your CGPA falls below a 3.0 and you have already used your probation semester you will lose your scholarship for any future terms.

Q - What if I drop below full-time status?

The UAS requires that you maintain full time status to keep your scholarship. If you drop below 12 hours in a given semester, you will be removed from the scholarship permanently.

Q - Once a UAS is lost, can I get it back?

Q - Can my scholarship be extended if I have used up all the semesters that was allotted to me but I haven't graduated yet?
