It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Appalachian Center for Craft, a premier craft-education facility in the scenic hills of Middle Tennessee.

The Center for Craft is a campus of Tennessee Tech University’s School of Art, Craft & Design, offering eight Bachelor of Fine Arts degree concentrations accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design. We also provide a non-degree Craft Certificate program.

Faculty and resident artists are respected and accomplished professionals in the fields of clay, fibers, glass, metals, wood, and exhibitions. Our students have access to small class sizes, individual attention, classic techniques and fresh perspectives on contemporary craft as they work in our very well-equipped studios.

We offer a variety of visiting artist and craft workshops throughout the year, creating an expanding network of contacts and career opportunities for our students. The craft industry is driven by creativity, vision and entrepreneurial spirit. Our majors have access to accomplished studio artists and benefit from exposure to professionals who have works in major museum collections and have built successful careers in the arts.

Since the Center for Craft opened more than 40 years ago, it has produced successful studio and production artists, elementary school to college-level art educators, and nationally and internationally renowned craft artists.

We also offer a number of annual events and programs for regional high school students, families, and the community.

Please don't hesitate to contact us with any questions about the Appalachian Center for Craft, the Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, or any of our events or programs.

Warm Wishes,

Debra Ruzinsky
