Eagle Online (SSB) FAQs:

 

Q: What do I do if I don't know my Self Service Banner PIN and I can't use the 'Forgot PIN' feature because I don't know my security questions and answers?

A: Please call the ITS Operations at 931-372-3388 to have your PIN reset. 

Q: What do I do if I don't know my User ID?

A: From the Banner SSB page click on find your Tech ID number (Tnumber) and answer the security questions.

Q: Why do I get 'Authorization Failure - Invalid User ID or PIN' when I click the 'Forgot PIN' button?

A: The Banner system does not know who you are.  You need to enter your User ID and then click the 'Forgot PIN' button.

Q: How do I change my Banner PIN?

A: In order to change your Banner PIN, go to the Personal Information tab and click Change PIN.  Enter your current and new PINs in the appropriate fields.  Your new PIN must be 1-at least 8 characters in length,and 2-alphanumberic.

Q: How do I change my Banner security questions and answers?

A: In order to change your Banner security questions and answers, go to the Personal Information tab and click Change Security Question.  You will need to enter your current PIN before proceeding.  Select your first security question, answer it and click Submit.  Then select your second security question, answer it and click Submit. 

Q: How many login attempts do I get before my account is locked/disabled and what do I do if my account is locked/disabled?

A: You have 5 login attempts before your SSB account gets locked/disabled.  However, you are still able to use the 'Forgot PIN' feature and answer your security questions to unlock your account and reset your PIN. 

 

 

Internet Native Banner (INB) FAQs:

 

Q: How do I reset my Banner password?

A: In order to reset your Banner password, go to the form GUAPSWD.  Enter your current and new passwords in the appropriate fields.  Your new password must be 1-at least 8 characters in length, 2-alphanumberic and contain 1 punctuation character-- valid characters are  !%*+-/:?_  3-different from your previous password by at least 3 characters, and 4-different from ALL previous Banner passwords used.

Q: Why do I lose my Banner session every time I try to open another web page?

A: In order for your Banner session to remain active, you must keep the INB web page running in the background.  If you want to open additional web pages while keeping Banner active, you must adjust your browser settings.  Open IE and click Tools, Internet Options.  Click on the Advanced tab and UNCheck the box for 'Reuse windows for launching shortcuts' within the Browsing section.  Click Apply and then click OK.

Q: Why doesn't the Banner Data Extract feature work for me? 

A: If nothing happens, try disabling your pop-up blocking for the INB website bapp-inb.siena.edu.  To do this open IE, click tools, select Pop-Up Blocker and then select Pop-Up Blocker Settings.  Enter the website address in the Exceptions box, click Add and then click Close.  If a webpage is displayed but it is blank, open IE, click Tools, and select Internet Options.  Click the Connections tab, click the LAN Settings button, and make sure all boxes are UNChecked (if any boxes are checked, UNCheck them) and click OK.

Q: Why can't I access the Banner Bookshelf?

A: In order to display the Bookshelf, you MUST have the browser's pop-up blocker disabled for the INB website bapp-inb.siena.edu.  To do this open IE, click tools, select Pop-Up Blocker and then select Pop-Up Blocker Settings.  Enter the website address in the Exceptions box, click Add and then click Close.

Q: Why can't I run any Banner jobs?

A: If you log into Banner and receive a message stating that "Your password will expire in ** days", you must reset your password immediately.  Even though you are able to log into Banner successfully, you may not be able to initiate any Banner jobs, i.e. Sleep-Wake processes for schedules and transcripts, Population Selection-Letter Generation processes, and any other job that is started from Job Submission Control.

Q: How can I review and save my output within INB?

A: Once you have submitted your Banner job, go to Options and then click Review Output.  Open the file you wish to review and save.  Then go to options, and click show document.  Click Yes to continue and a browser should open showing your output.  Go to File, Save As and save your document as a text (.txt) file.  You may open this text file in Excel or Word.

A: You have 3 login attempts before your INB Banner account gets locked/disabled.  Please call the ITS Operations at 931-372-3388 in order to have your account unlocked/enabled.
