Minimum Specifications for Network Connectivity
Minimum Hardware Requirements for Connecting to the Campus Network
Effective July 1, 2012, the minimum computer specification for network connectivity is as follows:
- Dell 745 (or higher; dual Core-series processor)
- 2GB of RAM
- Windows XP or Windows 7
- Intel Core-2 Duo (2GHz or higher)
- 2.0GB of RAM
- OS 10.6x
Other requirements for connectivity to the campus network may include antivirus software, network access control agents, user management, or other items reflected in ITS security policies and procedures.
These specifications are subject to change, based on operating system requirements, obsolescence, and support issues. Decisions are made regarding minimum connectivity requirements based on input from the colleges' and departments' IT representatives, and are generally published in January, to be made effective the following July.
